  • Job Description

    The Sourcing Manager will implement sourcing and negotiation strategies to bring Statements of Work (SOW) to finalization and execution for the Professional Services and Construction Services categories.  This includes defining category or SOW-specific strategy plans and leading the sourcing process to include market and baseline analysis, managing suppliers, developing and implementing strategies, negotiations, performing supplier capability assessments, continuous improvement and benchmarking that supports the sourcing category. 

    NOTE: Manager is looking for somebody who is strong in Sourcing and negotiations, and able to complete light PM tasks (ie. Tracking metrics, logging project details, analytics, setting timelines and actions)

    Responsibilities

    • Manages SOWs throughout lifecycle of drafting, negotiating, finalizing, and executing
    • Identifies correct sourcing strategy to employ based on opportunity of sourcing need
    • Drives competitive sourcing events and support vendor selection process
    • Tracks ongoing compliance of category and drive escalation process for non-approved system spend activities
    • Drives implementation planning and execution for identified purchasing opportunities within new or existing suppliers and solutions
    • Maintains knowledge of suppliers within categories for opportunity identification and business case development
    • Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
    • Performs governing agreement research to ensure contract compliance and closure of any gaps
    • Solicits formal and informal bids for requested services, taking into account price, terms, delivery, compatibility, total cost of the supplier's ability to meet their responsibilities
    • Able to influence both internal and external parties towards a sourcing plan or solution
    • Drives to and complies with program standards and procedures
    • Identifies change management opportunities and develops recommendations
    • Works with the contracts department to create agreements/contracts/standing orders with successful vendor(s), using corporate contract templates or other approved methods

    Qualifications

    Minimum

    • Experience required in related field (i.e. Supply Chain)
    • Experience required in drafting and negotiating SOWs
    • Proven ability to create and execute effective sourcing strategies and plans
    • Experience assigning and coordinating work of cross-functional team members to accomplish project goals.
    • RFx experience
    • Requires strong knowledge of MS Office (Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Solid business financial understanding
    • Strong understanding of the Sourcing Category

           Preferred

    • BS/BA in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Supply Chain, Business, etc.). 
    • Masters Degree a plus
    • Project Management experience
    • Understanding and demonstrated use of Vendor Management System and e-sourcing highly desirable
    • Experience in telecommunications industry desired
    • Prefer certification in Supply Chain Management, CPM or CPSM
